The Pizza Walk….

He who hesitates…waits

As Richard Bandler, (bona-fide genius & co-developer of NLP) says “He who hesitates…waits…& waits…& waits…” Almost everyone has situations where you would like to do something, but find yourself hesitating. I’ve heard Bandler describe hesitation as one of the main barriers to learning, & he focuses a great deal of time & energy on helping people to overcome it.

Affirmations + Action!

by kirchie on October 12, 2009
in Affirmations

I post my daily affirmations to my Twitter account and although many people enjoy them I see that some people just don’t understand affirmations.  Probably because they have tried them and not been successful or maybe because they just seem hokey and far fetched.
A person asked me the other day when I discovered the power of affirmations and everytime I settle on a point I am reminded of a period before that I used them so I just give up trying to remember and put affirmations down to my psychological makeup.
One example of using affiramations effetively was my absolute desire to win the South African Junior National Rowing Chamionships.  I remember it never being an option to lose. Our team, a coxed VIII, seemed to get onto the water and the entire world disappeared. For me the focus in the boat was so intense that a training session disappeared in time. I remember going to bed at night with the vision of crossing the finish line first and dreaming about it repetitively through every single night leading up to a race. I never ever lost in my dreams. We never ever lost a race.
The point that I would like to make is this:
Imagine our team had lain on our backs all season looking into the clouds and visualising winning races.  Or walking around our school yard affriming that we were the best.  Do you think we would have won?
You see Visualisation and Affirmations are tools, very powerful tools, but tools none the less.  Without ACTION they are useless.  Without getting in the boat and rowing for 2 hours a day, spending an hour a day in the gym or a hour on the rowing machines visualisation and affirmations are useless.
Visualisation gives you a clear picture of your goal.  Affirmations prepare your mind for receiving your goal.
And with you goal clear and your mind prepared any goal is achievable.

I post my daily affirmations to my Twitter account and although many people enjoy them I see that some people just don’t understand affirmations.  Probably because they have tried them and not been successful or maybe because they just seem hokey and far fetched.

Starting in the Future and Planning Backwards!

I am not really writing this post for you. I am writing it as a reminder to myself of everything that I have learned about the fundamentals of setting goals.

You see once in a while I find myself in a rutt wondering how I ended up there, and then by God’s grace alone I am reminded that if I just looked a little further into the future there is an answer there.

And why am I in this rutt? Because I have achieved all of my short term goals and I find myself with a sea of options that I did not prepare myself for. Interesting.

Which brings me to the title of this post – Starting in the Future and Planning Backwards……

The Business Success Model That I Use Every Day.

For 2 years I worked with SalesPartners Worldwide to launch their Southern African Franchise.

In that time I was privilaged to work with Blair Singer, the Founder of SalesPartners and Author of “SalesDogs”, “The ABC’s of Building a Business Team That Wins” and more recently “Little Voice Mastery”.  Blair is also Robert Kiyosaki’s primary business advisor and long time friend.

And although I do not work with SalesPartners any longer, one aspect will save my tail over and over again in business.  That is the Business Model that SalesPartners Franchisees implement within businesses that they work with.

Here is Blair outlining the model and if you want to find out more visit http://www.salesdogs.com. (Suggestion – If you have $1,995 to spare, get to Blairs 2 Day Seminar because your business will absolutely rocket after attending)

The Power of Language

I love NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).  As a Mechanical Engineer I am fascinated by anything that is presented in a system.

Basically NLP outlines our entire conscious and subconscious interactions between us and the people around us in a very simple set of rules.  And understanding these NLP guidelines can instantly and dramatically change the result of your life.  But we’ll look at those in later posts.

For now take a look and see what Jamie Smart has to say about the power of Language and especially the word “Because”.

I follow all of Jamie’s programs because there is some great material and enough of it is free to give you an all round NLP education.
